Mrs. Bert Stone Succumbs Sunday in St. Paris Home

Mrs. Ida Bell Johnson Stone, 77, wife of Bert Stone of St. Paris, died in her home at 6:15 p.m. Sunday following an illness of eight months.

She was born June 4, 1874 in Allen county, Ind., the daughter of David and Sarah Ella Simms Johnson and was married to Mr. Stone on December 20, 1900.

Mrs. Stone came to Champaign county from Illinois 65 years ago. She was a member of the St. Paris Baptist church, it's (sic) Ladies Aid Society and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving besides her husband are a daughter, Mrs. Beulah Maurice of Springfield; a son, Sgt. Robert J. Stone, with the U.S. Army in Korea, and a brother, John Johnson of Springfield.

The body was taken to the Baker funeral home in St. Paris where friends may call this evening and until time of services. Time of services will not be announced until word is received from the son in Korea.

Arrange Service For Mrs. Stone On Wednesday

Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Bell Johnson Stone, 77, wife of Bert Stone, who died 6:45 p.m. Sunday in her St. Paris home, will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Baker funeral home at St. Paris.

The Rev. Rex G. Van Court will officiate at the services and burial will be in Evergreen cemetery, St. Paris.
