Arrange Services for O.B. Maurice Victim Of Attack
Funeral services for Obert B. (sic) [V.] Maurice, 71, of Thackery, who died unexpectedly on Saturday, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Thackery Lutheran church.
Mr. Maurice suffered a heart attack in his home early Saturday and was taken to Springfield Mercy hospital only twelve hours before his death.
He was born in Clark county July 21, 1879, a son of Van Horn and Mary Littlejohn Maurice. He attended Lawrenceville high school in Clark county. A retired farmer, he had resided in Champaign county 51 years. He was a member of the Thackery Lutheran church.
Surviving are his wife, the former Carrie Conner; a sister, Miss Elsa (sic) [Elsie] M. Maurice, who resided with Mr. and Mrs. Maurice; a daughter, Mrs. Laurel (Alta) Irvin of near Springfield; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A son preceded him in death one year ago.
The Rev. David Scharf, pastor, will be in charge of the services. Burial is to be in Terre Haute cemetery.
Friends may call at the Baker funeral home at St. Paris until 11 a.m. Tuesday, when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until time for services. Friends may call there, too, but the casket will be finally closed at 2 p.m., the family said.
